With increased globalization it is possible to purchase any product or service from any country in the world, subject to foreign policy and trade restrictions
With the comparatively lower cost of living, this has resulted in shift of manufacturing from the developed countries in North America and Europe to the low cost countries in Asia like China, Vietnam, Thailand, India where labour costs are low. Though additional costs are incurred transporting the goods to the consumer, these are offset by the saving incurred.
However, in the current economic conditions, there is again a tendency to buy local products and services.
